Probably would have worked if the corner played the 3 step drop correctly.
To be fair – if you read a cover zero pre snap changing the play to a skinny post between the hashes is a pretty easy call to make. This is less about Peyton being great and Gruden’s DC making a dumb call — hence the reason he looked over to him and said something – cover 0 literally means “we have nobody back to stop the pass if we don’t get to the qb”
