Benching Vini before and benching him now are completely different situations. When Xabi benched him, we all knew he would eventually return to the XI. But this time, Diomande could genuinely take his spot because the boy is very good and Vini is playing very badly. And I don’t think Real Madrid will want to take that risk. Even when Rodrygo was horrible, the club didn’t drop him from the XI for A FCKNG YEAR.

No player is or has ever been bigger than the club. No player should be too big to bench. That being said, I love Vini, but if benching him means we beat Atletico, I am here for it.
If we want to be real and logical, we have to focus on improving the team rather than setting trophies as a standard this year, there is no way barca is losing Laliga this season (my guess is that they will break mourinho’s goals + points record in a season) but this should not affect us, Barca is having their best team since Guardiola days. Champions league as well the teams are light years ahead of us, the likes of PSG, Barca, Bayern, Arsenal .. our focus should be on improving the team all around, getting a respectable La Liga and UCL season, for an example close run to barca and a semifinal respectively, maybe win one of the minor trophies (CDL or Super Copa) to boost the confidence and morale of the team, meanwhile let barcelona have their prime season this year and let’s hope for a downfall in the next 2 seasons and we could catch-up domestically

I listened to your video about Vinícius. First of all, I completely agree that racism should always be confronted and defended against, regardless of who the player is.
However, I think the argument for benching Vinícius is a little too simplistic. Just because he has one poor game while his replacement performs well doesn’t automatically mean that the other player should move ahead of him. To me, it feels a little immature to draw such a big conclusion from a single match.
Vinícius is still a very important player for us. His impact isn’t always immediately visible in the statistics or in what he does with the ball. Opponents often have to focus heavily on him because they know how dangerous he can be when he gets space. His presence alone can therefore create opportunities and space for other players.
Of course, you can bench a player, but I think there needs to be a clearer and more long-term footballing reason behind such a decision. If you feel that he isn’t in the best form, I would rather play him and give him the opportunity to find his rhythm again, while still having the option to take him off during the game if he isn’t performing at the level expected of him.
What I especially don’t want to see is an unnecessary conflict being created around him in the middle of the season, similar to what the previous coach did. When everything is working well, I think we should be careful about creating problems that don’t really need to exist. We’ve already seen how that kind of situation can develop, and in my opinion, there’s no reason to repeat the same mistake.
