I was hitting just about 330 in my junior year guys. It's not very hard to do, you just need to know your club and have a clean swing. (Weather is also a factor of course)
In the 70s, hitting it 280 was monster territory, even on the tour. It's crept up to 320 today. The ball and equipment are the main reasons, with the ball first. But this 16 yo kid deserves every one of the 315 yds. His baby draw will turn into a power fade before he's 18! A well-raised young man as well, letting his actions do the talking.
They doubted him and you can tell it then he schooled them.
