The video is from June 3, 2023. The White Sox won 2-1 in extra innings against the Tigers after a wild pitch from Tigers pitcher José Cisnero struck umpire Cory Blaser in the face mask, allowing Yoán Moncada to score the winning run. It was the first game in MLB history in which all three runs were scored on wild pitches.
The "get back at the umpire" incident was a September 13, 2017 game, Tigers vs. Indians. Umpire Quinn Wolcott was hit in the shoulder by a pitch from Tigers pitcher Buck Farmer. This happened shortly after Tigers manager Brad Ausmus and catcher James McCann were ejected for arguing calls. Farmer and the Tigers denied any intent. MLB investigated and ruled there was no intentional act.
You know baseball is in a bad state when people see this video and side with the pitcher.
