  1. I lived in Spain for sometime, Madrid and believe me, the biggest football rivalry there is between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Bigger than RM and Barca, no doubt.
I am not sure, but it seems like Atletico is the more popular in the Capital

  2. As a guy from Madrid there are two things I would like to clear up

1 – no, Atlético is not the 'working class area team' or the 'southern team' I'm from the south of Madrid and the majority of the working class people in all areas are Madrid fans, the only areas in Madrid where Atlético fans seem to be a majority are San Isidro (where the Vicente Calderón was) and Canillejas which is not really a working class area but a middle class one

2 – pupas does not mean 'the jinxed ones' pupa is the word used by kids in Spanish to say 'wound' so 'pupas' means 'wounds' in a sarcastic childish way this is because Atlético fans spend all day licking their wounds and they are never ending, a pupas in Spanish slang is a looser who keeps making up excuses, a bad looser, a sore looser… A more correct translation for 'pupas' would be 'loosers'

  3. This one hit home bro, "El pupas" Fvckn hate that term but it's so true majority of the time we "Atleti" always start strong and pose a threat only to lose it in the end IT FVCKN SUCKS. I'll always love Atleti though, thanks for all the knowledge, now I can give more reasons to Fvckn Hate Real Madrid

  4. Atlético de Madrid Honours: La Liga, 10 ; Spanish Cup, 10 ; Spanish Super Cup, 4 ; Europe's Cup Winners Cup, 1 ; UEFA Europa League, 3 ; European Super Cup, 3 ; Intercontinental Cup, 1… Third Club with more International trophies and La Liga in Spain; eighth Club with more International trophies in Europe (the first one won in 1962, we are not a "recent big Club" as others, we just in the place we deserve historically). Get your things clear.
